The documents required to obtain Standard Chartered debit cards are the same as the ones needed to open an account with the bank. They can, however, differ based on the type of account you open.

How to Activate Standard Chartered Debit Card?

If you receive a new Standard Chartered debit card, you can generate a PIN using the official mobile banking application of the bank. Once you get the PIN, you can use the card at any Standard Chartered Bank ATM in the UAE. Keep in mind that if you have an old card, it will be automatically disabled. You would need to dispose of it securely.

If the card number of your new Standard Chartered debit card is the same as the previous one, you can use the former at any ATM using the existing PIN. This way, the old card will be disabled. You would need to dispose of it by destroying it.

You may need to change your Standard Chartered debit card PIN if your card is lost or stolen or if you have accidentally disclosed the PIN to a third party. You can change your Standard Chartered debit card PIN using the SC UAE mobile banking application and avoid standing in queues at the ATM or Phone Banking services. 

To change the PIN, follow these steps – 

  • Log in to the mobile application
  • From the Menu tab, tap on the “Help and Services” option 
  • Click on Debit/ATM Card PIN Change
  • Choose the Standard Chartered debit card whose PIN you need to change
  • Provide a new 4-digit PIN for the card you select. Re-enter the PIN and tap on Next. 
  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number – enter the OTP and select Next
