(1) Using HDFC assistant Eva

  • Visit the HDFC official site 
  • On the right hand side, the digital assistant Eva will pop up 
  • Type ‘Manage my Credit Card’ in the chat box
  • Select ‘International Transactions’ 
  • Click on ‘How to enable international transactions on my Credit Card?’ 
  • Enter your linked mobile number
  • Submit the OTP sent to your mobile
  • Provide the last 4 digits of the credit card number
  • Select ‘Enable International Transactions’

(2) WhatsApp Banking

  • Add HDFC Banks’ official WhatsApp Number (7065970659)
  • Send the message ‘Manage my Credit Card’ 
  • You will receive a text asking to choose from various options

  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number 
  • Enter the last 4 digits of your Credit Card number
  • Change the current status of International Transactions from Disabled to Enable

Choose your net banking option from the drop-down menu and click on Pay. Then, you will be securely redirected to your chosen bank payment interface.

Step 2 - Confirm your payment at the bank by entering your authentication details (via user ID/password). The amount will be debited online and your HDFC Bank Credit Card will be credited within 3 to 4 working days. 

Note: It is suggested to make payments at least 4 working days before the due date. 

Step 3 - You will receive online transaction confirmation and a Transaction Reference Number. Also, if you have provided your email ID, you will receive an acknowledgment email of your transaction. Your account will be debited online accordingly.

(1) HDFC Credit Card Bill Payment Through Net Banking 

You can easily use the HDFC Net Banking facility by linking your card to your account.

  • Log in to your Net Banking account by using your ID and password
  • Go to Pay tab and Select the “Credit Cards” option
  • Choose your card and click on “Pay”
  • Type the amount (Minimum/Total/Other)

(4) Using ATM Funds Transfer for HDFC Credit Card Bill Payment 

By following a few steps you can pay your credit card bill through a nearby ATM:

  • Insert your debit card for bill payment 
  • Select the “Main Menu” option on the right side of the ATM screen

  • On the top left, select “Make Credit Card Payment”

HDFC Cards International Transaction Fees 

There is a foreign transaction fee, often referred to as currency mark-up fee, applicable on HDFC Credit Cards. (A foreign transaction fee is a surcharge applied to your HDFC Credit Card payment that is made to purchase something in a different currency.)

It varies depending on the card type and is usually between 2% and 5% of the spent amount.Additionally, all fees, interest, and other credit card charges are subject to 18% GST. However, not all banks charge this fee, so it’s important to get in touch with your credit card provider to understand the exact charges associated with your card.

New HDFC Bank Credit Card Payment Rules from August 1, 2024

If you are an HDFC Bank Credit Card holder, here are some recent updates HDFC Bank has made regarding the terms and charges you should be updated about-

(1) Platform Payment fees: Users of other platforms such as Freecharge, Mobikwik, CRED, PayTM, and Cheq, need to pay 1% of the transaction value (with a maximum of Rs 3,000 per transaction).

(2) Fuel Transaction Fees:

  • There is no additional fee charged on fuel transactions of less than Rs 15,000.
  • However, if you are spending more than Rs 15,000, a 1% fee will be charged on the entire amount. 

(3) Utility Transaction Fees: Now, you can save on additional fees on consumer cards, if you are spending less than Rs 50,000 on Utility transactions. For more than that you will need to pay a 1% fee on the entire amount.

(4) Business Card Transaction Fees: Business card transactions of up to Rs 75,000 will not charge any additional fee. However, if you spend more than that, a 1% fee will be charged. 

Note: Insurance transactions won’t be considered as Utility transactions. Hence, there will be no charge applicable.

(5) Education Fees:

  • No fee for payments made through college/school websites or their POS machines.
  • A 1% fee will be charged for education payments made through third-party apps like CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, Cheq, etc.

(6) Cross-Currency and International Transaction Fees: 

  • A 3.5% markup fee applies to cross-currency and international transactions.
  • Specific card fees are as follows:
    • 2.5% for 6E Rewards Indigo XL
    •  2% for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition),  Biz Black Metal Card, Regalia Gold, BizPower, and Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank.

(7) Finance Charges:

  • If you choose to pay less than the total due amount on retail and cash transactions, you will incur finance charges of 3.75% (per month).
  • 1.99% of the finance charge will be applied for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, and Diners Black (Metal Edition).
