Types of NAS Neuron TPA Network Categories

Listed below are the NAS TPA network categories -

• NAS Comprehensive/CN - Under this network category, the insured gets worldwide health coverage. In case of inpatient treatment, they can seek accommodation in a private room. The insured can opt for both direct billing and reimbursement facility - in case of reimbursement, only 80% of the bill will be settled via NAS TPA.
• NAS General/GN - Under NAS General Network, the patient gets worldwide health insurance coverage. They can get treated in any of the network hospitals mentioned under the General Network.
• NAS Restricted/RN - Under this network category, the patient can opt for direct billing as well as reimbursement if they get treated within a network hospital. If the patient gets treated outside the network abroad, at a hospital not listed in the NAS network, they can seek 100% reimbursement of the actual costs (supposed to be reasonable) or 100% of the usual and customary charges of the selected network hospital (whichever is less). If the patient is getting treated abroad but in a network hospital, they can get 80% of the actual costs as reimbursement.
• NAS Super Restricted Network/SRN - Within this network category, patients have the option to choose between direct billing and reimbursement when receiving treatment at a network hospital. If treated outside the network abroad at a hospital not listed in the NAS network, patients can seek reimbursement of 100% of the reasonable actual costs or 100% of the usual and customary charges at a selected network hospital (whichever is lower). For treatment abroad at a network hospital, patients can receive reimbursement of 80% of the actual costs incurred.
• NAS Workers’ Network/WN - Specially designed for Abu Dhabi visa holders, the NAS WN allows the patient to get treated anywhere in the world with an annual coverage limit of AED 250,000. The patient can seek inpatient treatment in a semi-private hospital room.

Claim Procedure for NAS

In case you are seeking reimbursement for medical services, you can easily submit a reimbursement claim to NAS by following these steps -

• Registration and Login - To register for the first time, you should be using your Emirates ID and date of birth. In case you do not have Emirates ID, the insurer will provide you with an e-card number that can be used to log in. 
• Fill in the Claim Form - This form usually needs to be duly filled in by your treating doctor with their stamp. If they fail to do so, your claim form might be disqualified unless considered by the insurance company at their discretion. You need to make sure to provide all the important information, especially your personal details, card number, and the names of those who are related to your diagnosis and medical treatment. 
• Keep the Documents Handy - You would be required to provide all the paperwork in either English or Arabic. The list of documents that you need to provide or upload with your filled-in reimbursement claim form are -
  • A copy of the insurance card or Emirates ID
  • Medical prescription from the treating doctor
  • For inpatient hospitalisation cases - discharge summary or medical report stamped and signed by the treating doctor.
  • Dated itemised invoices or receipts with paid stamp
  • Investigation results or reports such as lab reports, X-ray reports, and more 
• Submit the Claim Form - Submit the reimbursement claim form within 30 days from the date of treatment whether in or outside the UAE. Make sure that you upload all the documents in the NAS application or on the NAS website. 
• Claim Reimbursement - Once you submit the form, you will receive an acknowledgement mail with Unique Claim Reference Number or UCRN (usually provided on every claim you submit online).

The entire reimbursement process takes up to 15 working days. If you have uploaded all the documents, you will receive an alert along with a claim summary sheet. In case the documentation process is not completed, the insurance provider will notify you about the required additional or missing documents within 3 working days.
