Cash Prizes that Encourage Lifestyle Changes

Participants in the RAK Diabetes Challenge have the opportunity to win cash prizes of up to Dh5,000 as they embark on a three-month journey to transform their lifestyles. The challenge will conclude on World Diabetes Day, observed on November 14.

Health Assessments Highlight Correlation

Comprehensive assessment of health, including HbA1c levels, Body Mass Index (BMI), and lifestyle and health scores, have unveiled compelling statistics underlining the direct connection between weight and diabetes.

Dr. Raza Siddiqui, executive director of RAK Hospital, stressed the importance of understanding this correlation and taking proactive steps for lasting health benefits saying "With almost 100 per cent of participants registering above their normal healthy weight range, these statistics clearly underscore the direct correlation between weight and diabetes. We want people to comprehend the nuances of this disease and take proactive measures that can lead to lasting health benefits.”
