Types of Nextcare Healthcare Facilities

Nextcare distinguishes between two different types of healthcare facilities: Nextcare PCP Clinics and Nextcare RN3 Hospitals, as mentioned below -

  • Nextcare PCP Clinics: Nextcare PCP Clinics are outpatient facilities that focus on providing primary care and general medical services. These clinics are typically staffed by primary care physicians (PCPs) or general practitioners who serve as the main point of contact for patients' routine medical needs. Nextcare PCP Clinics offer services such as preventive care, health screenings, treatment for common illnesses and injuries, vaccinations, and general consultations. These medical institutions have a wider range of medical specialities available, including surgical departments, intensive care units, specialised diagnostic services, and other advanced medical technologies.

Claim Procedure of Nextcare

When it comes to the claim procedure, Nextcare offers two types of claims: direct settlement and reimbursement. Let's explore each of these types in detail:

Direct Claim

A direct claim is a convenient and seamless process that allows you to receive medical services without being required to make upfront payments. Prior to visiting your chosen healthcare provider, it is advisable to call and schedule an appointment with the physician or specialist of your choice. During the booking process, make sure to confirm whether your policy is accepted by the physician.

Once you visit the healthcare provider and consult with the physician or specialist, the provider will submit a request for services directly to Nextcare, especially if pre-approval is required. Nextcare will then provide approval directly to the provider within the agreed-upon turnaround time.

The healthcare provider will inform you about the amount that you may need to pay directly to the facility, which may include copay, co-insurance, deductible (if applicable), or any non-covered services according to your policy's terms and conditions. They will also provide you with information about any further treatment needed, including the date and time.

Reimbursement Claim

In the case of a reimbursement claim, the process involves submitting the claim to Nextcare after you have made the payment to the healthcare provider.

Here are the steps to follow for a reimbursement claim:

  • Registration & Login - Visit the MyNextcare portal (https://mynextcarev2.nextcarehealth.com/Account/Index) and register or log in using your username and password. If you are a first-time user, registration can be done using your Emirates ID and date of birth. Alternatively, you can use the e-card number provided by the insurer for login purposes.
  • Go to Claims - Once logged in, go to the ‘Submit New Claim’ section. Make sure you have all the necessary details such as the name of the healthcare provider, service date, description, and the physician's name.
  • Gather Supporting Documents - Make sure that you have all the supporting documents for the claim submission. This includes the medical form signed by your doctor and stamped by the clinic or hospital, which should contain the history of the current illness, past medical history, clinical history, and prescribed medical tests or medicines. Additionally, submit any medical results, such as test results and radiology reports, as well as the medical invoice from the clinic or hospital.
  • Complete the Claim Submission - Fill in all the required claim information and upload or capture the supporting documents mentioned above. Once everything is complete, click ‘Submit Claim’ to finalise the process
  • Confirmation and Reimbursement - After submitting your completed claim form, you will receive a confirmation email indicating that your claim has been successfully submitted. The reimbursement claim should be submitted within 30 days from the date of the treatment, whether inside or outside the UAE. If you encounter any difficulties, you can contact the provider or email Nextcare PB (Policy Benefits) department for assistance.

The reimbursement process takes approximately 15 working days to process. Once the claim reimbursement is approved, the insurer will provide a Payment Order (PO) with the necessary details.

How to Track the Status of Your Reimbursement Claim with Nextcare?

To ensure transparency and keep track of your reimbursement claim, Nextcare offers convenient methods for following up on your claim status. You can easily monitor the progress of your claim by using the MyNextcare app or by contacting the call centre number provided on the back of your insurance card.

Here's how you can track the status of your reimbursement claim:

MyNextcare App

Access the MyNextcare app on your mobile device and navigate to the Claims section. Select the "View Claims" option, where you can search for any submitted reimbursement claim to know its status. Here are the possible statuses and their meanings -

  • Registered: This status indicates that the claim has been submitted to Nextcare but has not yet been reviewed by the Nextcare team.
  • Authorised: If the status shows as Authorised, it means that the claim has been reviewed and approved by the Nextcare team.
  • Pending for Beneficiary Response: If the status is marked as Pending for Beneficiary Response, it indicates that the claim has been received by the Nextcare team, but certain mandatory documents are missing and have to be submitted by you. You are required to provide the necessary documents to proceed with the claim review.
  • Processed: When the status is Processed, it means that the claim has been reviewed and either partially or fully approved by the Nextcare team. The claim is now ready for settlement.
  • Settled: If the status shows as Settled, it means that the claim has been processed and the approved amount has been wired either to your direct account or your designated beneficiary.
  • Declined: A status of Declined indicates that the claim has been denied, as it does not meet the eligibility criteria specified in your insurance policy's terms and conditions.
  • Not Used: If the status is displayed as Not Used, it means that the claim was initially authorised but was later cancelled.

Call Centre

As an alternative to the above options, you can dial the call centre number provided on the back of your insurance card to enquire about the status of your reimbursement claim.
