If you’re facing issues with your car insurance provider in Dubai, it’s important to know how to file a complaint against your insurance company in UAE effectively. Whether it’s a rejected claim or unfair treatment, the process for complaining is designed to protect your rights and ensure your concerns are addressed.

This guide will walk you through the steps to file a complaint against an insurance company, right from the initial communication to involving the relevant authorities such as the Insurance Authority and the Central Bank of the UAE. By understanding this process, you can easily navigate disputes and seek fair resolutions.

What Happens When Your Claim Gets Rejected?

If your claim is rejected, submit a complaint with your insurance provider first. Try to negotiate the situation and the claim amount with them. You can connect with customer care or locate the complaint form online.

If the insurer remains persistent with their decision, you can then go to Sanadak or the Insurance Authority to file a complaint.

Things to Points in Mind Before Filing the Complaint Against Insurance Company in UAE —

  • If a Licensed Financial Institution (LFI) or insurance company denies a service or product owing to discrimination as per your family or socio-economic status, gender, or minority group membership, you can raise a complaint.
  • Complaints can also be made if there's financial loss or harm due to deceptive, fraudulent, unfair, or misleading conduct by an LFI or insurance company.
  • Before approaching Sanadak, first, submit your complaint to the concerned insurance company.
  • Wait 30 days after filing the complaint with the company.
  • Ensure there's no ongoing court case related to the complaint.
  • Don't submit a complaint that is beyond the regulatory mandate of the UAE’s Central Bank or if the issue has already been resolved. Sanadak may reject complaints in these cases.

How to File a Complaint Against Your Car insurance Company through the Insurance Authority in the UAE?

The steps for the same are as follows —

  • Step1- If your insurance claim is denied, you will get a formal notice explaining the reasons for the rejection.
  • Step2- You should submit a complaint to the Insurance Authority, including all relevant documents like the rejection notice, policy details, and any communication with the insurance company.
  • Step3- The Insurance Authority, under the Central Bank of the UAE, will review your complaint and may ask for additional information to support your case.
  • Step4- If the Central Bank finds your claim valid, they will take appropriate action against the insurance company.
  • Step5- If the Central Bank cannot resolve the issue, the case will be referred to court for a final decision based on the evidence.

This process ensures all administrative options are explored before taking legal action, providing a structured approach to resolving insurance disputes.
