Futura Insurance Policy Details
Inclusions:
Life cover is a mandatory benefit that includes terminal illness coverage, aeroplane cover, and access to a medical second opinion service. We have explained the benefits of Futura insurance are explained below -
- Life Cover - Provides a cash payout to beneficiaries in the event of the insured's death
- Terminal Illness Benefit - The life cover amount is paid if the insured is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Not available for joint life-last death policies
- Funeral Coverage - An advance payment of USD 7,500 can be provided from the claim proceeds to cover the initial funeral or repatriation expenses. Payment is made to the beneficiary or policy owner
- Aeroplane Cover - An additional payout, up to USD 1 million, is provided if the insured dies while travelling as a fare-paying passenger on a commercial airline
- Life Event Increase Option - Allows the policy owner to increase selected benefits within 90 days of a major life event, such as marriage, childbirth, or purchasing a home, without additional underwriting
- Medical Second Opinion Service - Provides access to expert medical opinions from world-renowned specialists for critical health decisions, ensuring accurate diagnoses and treatment options
Optional Benefits:
Zurich Futura life insurance plan offers an array of optional benefits. You can add, remove or change the coverage as per your requirements. They are -
- Accidental Death Benefit - Provides an additional cash payout if the insured dies due to an accident
- Critical Illness Benefit - Pays a lump sum if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness or undergo a specified medical procedure. Claims are deducted from the life cover sum insured which may reduce or terminate the coverage. This policy covers 36 conditions*
- Dismemberment Benefit - Pays a cash sum for the loss of sight or a limb due to an accident
- Family Income Benefit - Provides regular payments if the insured passes away during the policy term
- Fixed Term Income Benefit - Pays regular amounts if the insured dies before age 70, starting from claim approval
- Hospitalisation Benefit - Payable if hospitalised for four or more consecutive days
- Permanent and Total Disability Benefit - Provides a lump sum if diagnosed as permanently and completely disabled. This claim does not reduce life cover
- Waiver of Premium - Covers premium payments if the insured is incapacitated due to illness

- Aorta graft surgery (for trauma and disease)
- Bacterial meningitis (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Blindness (permanent and irreversible)
- Cardiomyopathy
- Coma (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (requiring continuous assistance)
- Dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease) before age 65 (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Encephalitis
- Heart failure
- HIV infection
- Liver failure (end-stage)
- Loss of independent existence (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Lung disease (end-stage or respiratory failure)
- Motor neurone disease (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Open heart surgery (with surgery to divide the breastbone)
- Parkinson’s disease before age 65 (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Stroke (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Third-degree burns
- Aplastic anaemia (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Benign brain tumour (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Cancer (excluding less advanced cases)
- Children’s critical illness
- Coronary artery by-pass grafts (with surgery to divide the breastbone)
- Deafness (permanent and irreversible)
- Ductal Carcinoma in Situ of the Breast
- Heart attack (of specific severity)
- Heart valve replacement or repair (with surgery to divide the breastbone)
- Kidney failure (requiring dialysis)
- Loss of hands or feet (permanent physical severance)
- Loss of speech (total, irreversible, and permanent)
- Major organ transplant
- Multiple Sclerosis (with persisting symptoms)
- Paralysis of limbs (permanent, total, and irreversible)
- Primary Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (resulting in permanent symptoms)
- Systematic Lupus Erythematosus (of specified severity)
- Traumatic head injury (resulting in permanent symptoms)

Exclusions:
Some situations are not covered under this policy, including –
- Suicide and Self-Inflicted Injuries - No coverage is provided if death occurs due to suicide or intentional self-harm within the first year of the policy
- Incorrect or Misleading Information - Health and lifestyle details must be accurate during the application process. Providing false information may result in claim denial
- Policy Value Withdrawals - Coverage remains active as long as the fund value can sustain its cost. Withdrawals reduce the policy’s duration, and if the value reaches zero, coverage will end, and the policy will lapse
