All airlines have a specific baggage allowance to ensure that there is adequate space for all passengers and that the aircraft safety norms are maintained. You will generally find the baggage/luggage allowance mentioned on the airline tickets purchased. The baggage fees are charged when you carry more than the specified luggage amount. Let's explore Qatar Airways’ baggage guidelines for passengers if you are planning to travel with the same airlines.

Qatar Airways Baggage Allowance

Qatar Airways allows free checked baggage but there are limitations on the baggage weight and dimensions. Other factors like the flight route and the cabin class also determine your baggage allowance. Business class travellers will be permitted to carry checked baggage of 40 kg. However, the baggage size should not exceed 158 cm in total dimensions including length, width and height.

The maximum Qatar Airways baggage allowance weight is 50 kg for passengers travelling to and from India in first class. In this case, the baggage dimension should not exceed 300 cm. Business class travellers on the India route may carry checked baggage weighing 40 kg, and 300 cm in dimension.

Economy class travellers are allowed to take 30 kg check-in baggage of not more than 300 cm in dimension.

Guidelines for Checked Baggage

In specific routes where the baggage weight concept applies, there is no limit on the number of check-in bags if the weight allowance does not exceed. However, limitations may apply based on the aircraft carrying capacity. You can find baggage allowance details on your flight tickets, as well as on qatarairways.com.

In case of any excess baggage, the passenger will be charged extra. You can avail of savings while purchasing extra baggage allowance online. Qatar Airways baggage guidelines specify no allowance for carrying any irregular-shaped baggage, tied with loose rope or string, wrapped in blankets or that has loose straps.

Qatar Airways Baggage Allowance on Code-share and Interline Journeys

If your air travel includes another airline apart from Qatar Airways, that airline will not offer you a high baggage allowance. If you are booking a journey that includes a code-share flight with another carrier, contact Qatar Airlines to confirm your baggage allowance.
