Ramadan is an auspicious time of the year, bringing together faith, tradition, and self-reflection. With fasting and devotion being the key elements of this month, it will naturally bring changes to your daily routine. In this guide, we will cover all the essential details to help you adjust your schedule in Ramadan 2025 —from fasting hours to vibrant iftar celebrations.

When Will Ramadan 2025 Start?

Ramadan 2025 is expected to start on March 1 or March 2. It will continue until the evening of March 29 or 30. The Islamic calendar is based on the lunar phase cycle — Ramadan starts when the first crescent moon is observed. For this reason, the Ramadan dates may change depending on moon sightings.

Eid-Al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan month, is expected to be celebrated on March 29 or March 30, 2025. The celebration date can also change as it depends upon the observation of the moon. With that said, Eid can be a long weekend where you can try some new places for relaxing stays or even plan an adventurous international trip.

Fasting Hours in Ramadan 2025

As Ramadan 2025 approaches, those observing the holy month may expect slightly shorter fasting hours compared to 2024.

On the first day of Ramadan, fasting is expected to last around 12 hours and 58 minutes. By the 11th day, the duration is expected to increase 13 hours and 13 minutes. The timings for Fajr prayers and Maghrib are expected at 5:16 am and 6:29 pm, respectively.

Towards the end of the month, fasting hours are expected to extend to 13 hours and 41 minutes. In comparison, Ramadan 2024 had longer fasting hours, ranging from 13 hours and 16 minutes to nearly 14 hours.

This slight reduction in fasting hours in 2025 may bring some relief to those fasting, making it a little easier to manage daily activities while observing the spiritual significance of Ramadan.

Note: The given fast timings can be changed on the basis of moon phases and locations across the world.

Additionally, Salik toll charges will vary by time during Ramadan 2025. Peak-hour rates of AED 6 apply from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, while off-peak hours (7 pm to 9 am & 5 pm to 2 am) bring a charge of AED 4.

Note that no charges will apply from 2 am to 7 am (Monday – Saturday) in the Ramadan period. On Sundays, it’s AED 4 all day (7 am to 2 am) and free afterward.

Parking fees also change during this holy month. However, keep in mind that the Variable Parking Tariff Policy is expected to be implemented by March 2025. It sets rates at AED 6/hour for premium spots and AED 4/hour for standard parking during peak hours. As per reports, parking is expected to be free overnight (10 pm to 8 am) and throughout the day on Sundays.
