UAE Strengthens Diplomatic Ties - Visa Free Agreements with Kosovo and Mongolia

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has solidified its diplomatic bonds with European nations, notably signing a visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Kosovo. This recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries exempts citizens holding ordinary, diplomatic, special, and mission passports from visa requirements.

Under this arrangement, UAE nationals can enjoy visa-free travel to Kosovo for up to 90 days, mirroring the privileges granted to citizens of Kosovo when visiting the UAE.

Bilateral Commitment

The agreement, signed by Khaled Abdullah Belhoul and Xhabir Hamiti on behalf of the UAE and Kosovo, and welcomed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs, encompasses various areas of cooperation, including politics, economics, culture, and education.

UAE-Mongolia Visa-Free Travel Deal

In a parallel development, the UAE has entered into another significant visa-free travel deal, this time with Mongolia. The agreement, formalized through an MoU, facilitates visa exemptions for individuals holding regular, diplomatic, special, and mission passports from both nations.

As per the terms, UAE citizens can visit Mongolia without a visa for up to 30 days per visit while Mongolian citizens enjoy reciprocal privileges when travelling to the UAE.

Shared Commitment

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, UAE's Minister of State, and Battsetseg Batmunkh, Mongolia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the memorandum, underscoring the shared commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.

This move is anticipated to foster collaboration across various sectors, including politics, economics, culture, and education, aligning with the broader goal of promoting mutual interests between the UAE and Mongolia.

Milestones in Global Relations

Both visa exemption agreements represent significant strides in facilitating the movement of people and strengthening ties between the UAE and the respective nations of Kosovo and Mongolia. These diplomatic efforts signify a broader commitment to international cooperation and the promotion of shared interests.
