In a remarkable achievement, the UAE passport has become the 12th most powerful one in the world, granting its citizens unprecedented ease of international travel. The Henley Passport Index, a well-respected global ranking system that evaluates passports based on their visa-free access to countries worldwide, recently announced a momentous advancement in the UAE passport’s power.
With visa-free access to 179 countries, holders of UAE passports can now freely explore countless destinations across the globe without the hassle of pre-arranged visas. This remarkable progress has elevated the UAE passport to the 12th position among the most formidable passports globally, amplifying the country's international presence and fostering its growth and prosperity on the global stage.
Commenting on this milestone, Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, chairman of Henley & Partners and the passport index inventor, stated, "The UAE has added an impressive 107 destinations to its visa-free score since 2013, resulting in a massive leap of 44 places in the ranking over the past 10 years from 56th to 12th position. This is almost double the next biggest climber, Colombia, which has enjoyed a jump of 28 places in the ranking to sit in the 37th spot."
The Henley Passport Index, which publishes quarterly updates, compiles data from reliable sources to determine the rankings. It evaluates the number of countries that a passport holder can enter without a visa or with visa-on-arrival privileges.
The top positions on the Henley Passport Index are dominated by countries with strong economies and extensive global influence. Singapore currently holds the title of the world's most powerful passport, with visa-free access to 192 countries.
